My Story

Hi, thank you so much for being here.

Having spent 20 years in the investment banking industry, I had the opportunity and privilege to work with many high achievers across Asia. All of us strive to succeed in our career or businesses. Unfortunately due to the high demands at work, at school or at home, many of us are much less proactive about developing our (or our loved ones') psychological well-being than we are about our physical well-being.

The fast-paced society also led many with very little time to think about life issues, not even mentioned about how to live an artful life and for that matter, becoming an artful parent.

This led me to pursue a Masters in Counselling and subsequently set up Laevo Art. My main aim is to encourage each individual to constantly tap on our natural gift of creativity and curiosity when life feels unbearably difficult, or even when we just simply wants to better our decent life. By searching internally (instead of looking outside) would prepare us for a self-discovery process to cope with life challenges.

I am most inspired by the German-Jewish artist Charlotte Salomon who began her extraordinary series of 769 paintings entitled Life? or Theater? when she was in hiding from the Nazis and was driven by the question: to take my own life or to undertake something wildly unusual? She chose the later and left behind a masterpiece that encapsulated her whole life.

John Dewey said "living artfully means exploring and find the depth, vividness and meaning of life. To live artfully means connecting to one's innerself and to be engaged in the world".
